Like a tourist in Milan

Hey guys! Last few weeks were pretty hectic but I came back with another post in the italianguest blog. Today’s article is about travelling to a famous city in the north of Italy, known as the “fashion capital”, Milan.

The city has lots to offer, especially now that Christmas is coming closer.
I joined my friends @andrea, @_il_fu_manuel_bianchi_ and @Ariel for a spontaneous trip here. @Ariel, from Taiwan, has never been to Milan before so we had a fun day exploring all together. I felt like a tourist as well.

When you think about Milan is hard not to think about the Duomo.

Standing proud in Piazza del Duomo, this behemoth cathedral has seen more than 600 years pass by and has the history to prove it!
After more than 150 steps ( I lost the count after that) we reached the top of the Duomo and the view up there was even more breathtaking!

After the (almost) endless line at the cathedral we had late lunch. My friend @andrea picked the right place for a good pizza: Camillo Benso. A good italian restaurant, close to the metro stop “Turati”, easy to notice. Fairly prices& nice atmosphere.

Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II is just next to the Duomo, and houses many luxury flagship stores (Prada, Gucci, Bottega, Louis Vuitton etc). It is well worth a visit for the beautiful ceilings and patterns. Even the McDonald’s inside the gallery looks more posh than ever! I guess Milan is Milan after all.

The Sforza Castle houses a lot of museums. We didn’t really venture into the museums, but just strolled around. It consists of different styles, which makes it interesting to look at and take in.

Snack time at Luini before getting ready to go home. I had two panzerotti with tomato and cheese. Every time I go to Milan I always eat one. It became a tradition.  The place is take-away, always crowded but it’s worth it!

I had a wonderful day. I’m happy I got to see my friend @andrea from Australia and meeting his friend @Ariel.

Hope you like this post and see you to the next one!

Ciao!
